Transcripts: Exceptions
SMDEP does not require transcripts in the following instances:
- Foreign colleges and universities
outside of the U.S., U.S. territories, and Canada. This does not
include American colleges and universities abroad;
- Canadian CEGEP or Grade 13 programs;
- Student has no prior enrollment at current institution
(e.g., new/transfer student);
- Consortium/cross-registration program; no separate
transcript is available from the school where courses were attempted;
- Institution only provides a certificate of completion,
no transcript available; however, in such cases, a letter stating this policy
must be sent directly from the Registrar's office.
Please note: U.S. institutions with campuses overseas
(such as the University of Maryland at Munich) are considered U.S. colleges
for which transcripts are required and all coursework must be listed.
If the institution has closed, contact the Board of Education
in the appropriate state.
