All applicants are encouraged to apply early!

The SMDEP National Program Office (NPO) has established admissions guidelines regarding acceptance procedures for applicants.

Please remind your students to submit all of the following materials by the deadline.

  1. SMDEP Web Application

  2. Transcripts

Please note: College freshman who have not received their first semester grades are advised to wait until their grades are reported before sending a transcript to the NPO.

  3. Letters of Recommendation

Late submission of transcripts and recommendations could result in their application not being processed. Please remind them that all documents need to be submitted to the NPO on or before the application deadline of March 1! The NPO strongly encourages early application submission to increase their chance of being considered by the program site(s) because applications are reviewed on a first-come, first-served basis.

Note: To give the program sites adequate time to view all applications and make decisions, the NPO is requesting that all letters of recommendation and transcripts be postmarked by Friday, March 1, 2013.

The Admission Decision Release Dates are February 15 and April 1, 2013.

Please note: Students may attend SMDEP only once!
