Dr. Rosa Chaviano-Moran serves as the Director of the dental
component for the New Jersey Dental School SMDEP Program Site.
Dr. Chaviano-Moran is the Assistant Professor in the Department
of Community Health and serves in various roles on campus.
She also works as a recruiter and mentor and provides support
services for students underrepresented in dentistry.
In this podcast, Dr. Chaviano-Moran talks about how to prepare for dental school and make themselves more competitive applicants. She also discusses the impact of the GPA and DAT scores, and extra-curriculars on dental school admissions.

Dr. Armstrong is Professor of Pediatrics and Pediatric Cardiology
with Tenure in the Division of Pediatric Cardiology at Duke
University Medical Center. In addition to her faculty appointment
in Pediatrics and Pediatric Cardiology, Dr. Armstrong serves
as Dean of Admissions for the School of Medicine at Duke University.
She is also the Principal Investigator for the Duke SMDEP
Program Site.

Harper, M.D., Assistant Dean for Educational Programs, University
of Texas Medical School at Houston
Dr. Harper is an Assistant Dean for Educational Programs at
the University of Texas Medical School at Houston where he
is also an Associate Professor in the Department of Psychiatry
and Behavioral Sciences. He provides clinical care as a child
and adolescent psychiatrist. Dr. Harper is the Medical Director
for SMDEP at the UT Houston site and involved in student support
services offered through the dean's office.
