What does an Ambassador do?

The program expectations for a SMDEP Ambassador are:

  • recruit eligible participants to the program,

  • participate/host campus outreach activities,

  • work with your pre-health advisors to share information about the program,

  • share your experiences with others,

  • complete a brief Ambassador Checklist about your recruitment/activities and submit it to the NPO,

  • work with peers to update information their information in the SMDEP Tracking Database.

As you recruit students for SMDEP, tell each of them to enter your ambassador identifier on the portion of the online application that asks, "Who Referred You?" This is how the National Program Office will know how many applicants with completed application packets you were responsible for recruiting.
